No, you're a CUV. There is no reason for your exhaust to sound like that at 6000 RPM. I should not want to rev you to the moon every time I take off. This is how my thoughts and actions usually go:
downshifting in manumatic mode to stop
hear crackling and popping as the revs jump up and slowly fall
"Okay, I'm not gonna wait till 6500 to shift, it's not going to happpen."
light turns green
"Fuck it, it sounds to good."
drops pedal and take off, hit 6500 RPM shift, slow down to speed limit
"Goddamit car."
And thus the cycle continues until I get home.

It probably took me longer than it should have to figure out what "S2G" means. I don't know that I'm better for it.
Don't get pulled over.

08 Vue with 3.6 V6. It doesn't make sense!

Memorized every cop car, livery, and common locations within like 20 miles of my house already.

No it does not, considering I drive its sister at work and its a PITA and horrible drive... OK it never shifts when it should and its frustrating as a manual only driver, everything else is just OK.

Ours shifts right when it should. Downshifts are quick. I'm assuming hers is a 3.6?

Its a Captiva and the 4 cyl. I have yet to drive an auto that shifts when it should though...

See, it's the 4-cylinder that ruins the experience. Because the 4 cylinders also get electric power steering while V6s get hydraulic. You don't get the wonderful engine note, or the good power delivery. And the auto might be meh, but I'm too busy to notice.

LOL, give me 4 cyl and a manual and I am happy. Give me anything with an auto and I will be miserable, I am too much of a perfectionist and "my way" to accept auto. Same reason I shoot DSLRs, its not about "better pictures" its about control!

I have to say, I've read several different posts from you, including a certain response to a question I asked a few days ago , and you talk very highly of this Saturn Vue V6 your family has. I have never thought of Saturn as being a brand for the enthusiast; quite the opposite, in fact. Yet despite the fact that this car is both from an un-sporty brand and of an un-sporty body style, the vibe I'm getting from you is that this is actually a fun car to drive. I have never driven anything like the Vue before, but I get the impression that, before I buy a car soon here, I may have to check one out!

You'd be shocked how well it drives. I give no shits what others think, this is a CUV that can be driven enthusiastically. I remember a few years ago some auto rag compared it to a BMW X3... And the Saturn won. I reccomend it VERY much. Just MAKE SURE it's a 3.6 V6, because the base models offered the old Honda sourced V6 on AWD models.

I got lucky. This one is right near me. It's a bit out of my price range, but if it's still around this coming week I'll go take a look at it.

Oooh that one even has the good slapshift, my mom's has the toggle on the side. Make sure you turn off the traction and stability control when you test drive it, because sometimes it really holds it back sometimes.
